Unlike vinyl printing (which requires a ton of ink to saturate the plastic-like material), our wall printer sprays a fine layer of ink directly onto the wall. That means our printer can move quickly and efficiently, with minimal waste.

Powerful UV lights are mounted right onto our wall printer’s print head. With each pass of the printhead, the ink on the wall is instantly cured. This means your mural will be almost completely dry as soon as it is printed! At most, the print surface might be a little tacky for the first hour after printing, but the ink will not come off the wall if you touch it. In essence, no drying time is needed at all!

Due to the nature of our printer, we can only print on surfaces that are vertically-oriented. This isn’t the downside that you might think, as most objects can be oriented vertically using a special mount that we have developed. We can print on doors, tables, canvases, sheet metal, fabrics, and even glass! As long as the surface can be oriented vertically during printing, it can be returned to any orientation afterwards.

Curved surfaces are unfortunately not possible for us to print on. Due to the nature of the printer itself, we cannot print on objects, items, or walls that have a significant curve or grade. 

Yes! We have the capacity to print using white ink. This allows us to print on any colored surface. This also means you can print on glass and choose whether you want your print to be translucent (think stained glass) or opaque (can’t see through).

When we come in to measure your space for a print, we will take note of any obstacles that might be in our way, such as light switches, plugs, internet jacks, electrical panels, cracks or damage, windows, etc. Typically, we can either design around the obstacles on the wall, tape over them, or have them removed and then reinstalled post-print. Either way, we will ensure your mural fits perfectly in your space! 

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the printer, we cannot print edge-to-edge or guarantee full coverage of a wall surface. In this case, a traditional vinyl or wallpaper setup would be more beneficial if you are looking for pure edge-to-edge coverage.

Having said that, our printer excels at doing things that vinyl and wallpaper cannot do, such as complex designs and even printing drop shadows with gradient fills onto the surface. Our clients will tell you that edge-to-edge printing isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be when compared to the power of wall printing. Our mural designs emphasize the power of our wall printer and its capabilities.

Our wall printer can produce murals up to 11.5ft tall from top to bottom, with the top being up to 13ft off the ground. Because of our unique track system, we can print virtually infinite width (picture a 50 foot long continuous print)! In the event there were significant objects in the way, we might look at breaking the print up into sections to avoid those objects.

Our mural would need to be at least 13 inches from the floor and at least 13 inches from the ceiling. We typically recommend a minimum setback of 4” on either side. The exception to that rule is if there is a wall corner on the right-hand side, in which case we’d recommend keeping the right edge of the mural at least 20” away to avoid the machine from bumping the corner.

Yes! Our prints are completely damage resistant because our special UV ink is cured directly onto the surface on the wall. By comparison, vinyl is a layer of plastic that adheres to the wall and will start to peel away from any nicks, cuts, or dings that get put into the surface of the wrap. With our murals, damage to the wall won’t degrade the quality of the print whatsoever – that means no peeling, warping, or bubbles!

For clarity, significant damage to the surface of the wall will transfer to the print right where the damage occurred. But this damage will not compromise the integrity of the rest of the printed surface.

The UV ink cures on the surface of the wall (or whatever object we are printing on) and hardens, giving it a very strong resiliency. You can use anything from wet wipes, isopropyl alcohol, Simple Green, soap and water, sprays, and other industrial cleaning products directly on the surface of the print itself.

As for setting up our printer, printing the design, and packing up, we’ll be in and out of your space within a few hours or less!

Depending on the resolution required for the print, it can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours per 50 square feet. We also may require more time should your space require any site prep (e.g. painting, removing electric boxes, etc.).
